This yummy treat is great for breakfast or brunch. The inside layer is semisweet chocolate that will appeal to kids of all ages. You might want to serve this chocolate panini for dessert. To make it more interesting drizzle it melted milk chocolate over the top, a dollop of freshly made whipped cream, and sliced strawberries.
Serves 2 friends total time: 5 minutes
4 slices of challah bread or white bread
2 ounces of semiweet chocolate, chopped ( good quality)
1. Form 2 sandwiches with the bread and chocolate. Transfer to a hot panini press or waffle iron and cook until the bread and the chocolate has melted, 2-3 minutes. (Alternatively, cook the sandwiches in a grill pan, turning once and pressing down frequently.)
Drizzle with any melted chocolate of your choice
For Valentines Day- top it off with cherry pie filling
Instead of semisweet chocolate use a chocolate hazelnut spread, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Serve and Enjoy!
